Fendi Launches Chinese Valentine's Day Capsule Collection

In collaboration with the artist Mr. Doodle, art and fashion make history again

Sharing a unique aesthetic sensibility, Fendi further joins the art for a capsule collection in collaboration with British artist and illustrator Sam Cox.

Known as Mr. Doodle, the artist has a particular style of drawing doodles, bold lines made only with a black pen. With his work, Mr. Doodle has given life to walls, rooms, furniture, vehicles and buildings - as in 2019, when he took over the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, on the roof of the FENDI headquarters, covering it with giant mirrored letters that formed the words FENDI, ROMA and the FF logo, FENDI double F.

The special relationship between the Italian fashion house and the artist became even closer in 2020 with this capsule collaboration. Designed for the celebration of Chinese Valentine's Day - this year on August 25 (falling on the 7th day of the 7th Chinese lunar month), women's and men's leather goods, ready-to-wear and footwear were launched exclusively in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Nanjing, Shenyang, Hong Kong and Taipei along with Singapore, Sydney, Bangkok, Costa Mesa and Vancouver.

FENDI logos, FF, and hearts in red - symbolizing Valentine's Day, are the result of an endless creative flow. Black, white and touches of yellow connect, giving life to a spectacular result, typical of their aesthetics.

The men's collection is predominantly black. A reversible nylon jacket with a doodled print kicks off, followed by a cotton jacket with the prints in the front pocket; black pants with full print followed by short pants with the iconic doodled on the back.

In a more sporty selection the brand includes a white jersey t-shirt with the Doodle print; a white sweatshirt with hood and front doodles and a black t-shirt with the FF logo.

Men's leather items feature Peekaboo Xlite Fit in white canvas with black doodles, inner pocket and red and gold hardware. A black sports backpack in nylon and printed leather, with gold and red details and doodles in the inner and outer pockets. A flat black printed leather bag highlights the yellow FENDI logo next to a red heart. Black baseball hats and white low-rise shoes in leather embossed with the yellow FENDI logo and red hearts complete the looks.

The female one presents the regular Peekaboo Iconic bag in white calf leather, with external serigraphy printed with the art of Mr. Doodle, along with a Mini Peekaboo Iconic handbag in red nappa leather with internal silk-screen printing of doodles; a Nano Baguette in white calf leather with doodles and a highlighted yellow FENDI logo, the ultimate Peek-a-phone - a telephone stand with a long strap and iconic Peekaboo closure, with the same graphics and the addition of red hearts like the double-sided printed foulard and wrappy silk.

The ready-to-wear collection consists of denim shorts with embroidery in the pocket, white jersey T-shirt with the prints of the collaboration; printed silk pants with red piping; white hooded sweatshirt and front scribbles complemented by leather biker shoes.
