Glassing Continues to Grow as a Premium Eyewear Brand in Dubai

From its Conception in Ibiza, Glassing, the Italian eyewear brand that has graced the eyes of many celebrities worldwide, continues to grow as an iconic accessory in the UAE, having recently expanded their collections and sites in Dubai.

Originally starting only as a pop-up store at The Beach, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Glassing has since gained much attraction from UAE residents as an edgy and art-infused eyewear brand, being rocked by fashion enthusiasts like Farah Abdulaziz and Hadia Ghaleb to complete their bold, eccentric looks, used by fashion stylists like Gemma Jones for major commercial shoots in glossy publications, and collaborated with Emirati ‘pop-art’ illustrator, Fatma Al Mulla to design limited-edition eyewear cases. Its success has allowed for a continuous expansion to major locations, launching a second pop-up store in City Walk and opening up a stylish flagship boutique in Meraas’ beachfront destination La Mer. Glassing has plans to continue growing in Dubai and open new locations and collections, keeping up with the high-demand from local audiences. 

The Italian founders of Glassing, and lifelong friends, Alessandro Forte and Stefano Ottone, found inspiration when vacationing on the Spanish island of Ibiza. They began creating their designs in 2006 and officially launched their brand in 2010. The duo sold their sunglasses on the island through various outlets including a floating store on a Glassing yacht, they sold 20,000 pairs in less than a month. Over the years, their undeniable success made it possible to open stores in several prime locations around the world, including Dubai, and even launch a Dubai specific collection named “We Are Steel”.

The ultimate luxury accessory for the world traveler - Glassing has rapidly become a celebrity favorite, worn by the likes of the Kardashian and Jenner families, Elton John, and Lewis Hamilton. Glassing currently has four flagship stores in Italy in the cities of Milan, Portofino, Taormina and Capri. The brand also has an outlet and a store in the form of a real yacht completely customized to the brand’s image and fully functional as a retail unit making it the first floating optical store ever. The brand is currently distributed in more than 1500 selected optical stores and world luxury boutiques, as well as in high-end department stores Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Holt Renfrew, Excelsior, Galeries LaFayette and Twist. The contemporary eyewear brand has become a favorite among A-list celebrities and the jet-set elite and also boasts a Glassing Design Lab, which has been home to creative collaborations with the likes of A.C. Milan Fútbol Club and Adidas.
