Jonathan Anderson’s show was held at the iconic UNESCO House in central Paris. Thanks to a weather break, guests traded in their umbrellas for a shower of accessories, from the irresistible Bunny Bag to the daring Wings Hat. The best-dressed guest award definitely went to rapper A$AP Rocky, who attend the show wearing a black-tie blazer, oversized denim jeans, white sneakers - and around his neck a Victorian-esque choker.
The collection itself was packed full of ethereal, Romantic references. In silhouette after silhouette, the designer's sensitivity for tradition and technique were palpable. From the volumes and cuts to brilliant materials choices (think guipure and macramé, transparent linen, cotton gabardine, luxury knitwear, dripping pearls, and leather which appeared as a second skin).
For this collection, Anderson appeared to be influenced by the rural world and its folklore. Transparent materials, movement and colour palette (think soft and luminous tones, touches of black like thunderclaps, flowery motifs like the fields in spring) felt like a visible representation of Vivaldi’s "Le Printemps". Elsewhere, ruffles, high necklines and floor-length pieces added a feel of Spanish aristocraticness.
