Highlights from the Dior Fall-Winter 2019 show
Feminism played a key role in Maria Grazia Chiuri's FW19 show. To kick off the event the famous Italian feminist Bianca Menna read a poem. Menna, who worked under the nom de plum Tomaso Binga in the 1970s to "question male privilege in the art world" read prose in Italian about feminism taking down the patriarchy.
Menna helped to set the tone for the show which went on to include several versions of t-shirt with the iconic feminist slogan "Sisterhood is global".
Inspiration from the postwar UK teddy girls and Dior's original New Look could also be seen in some pieces in the new collection, from statement hats, structure feminine shapes and midi length skirts.
Black, ruffled bows and textured midi skirts were all key themes on the catwalk for the FW19 collection
