Those who know and appreciate Giorgio Armani's fashion know that King Giorgio always remains true to himself. The designer has always declared that he wants to make real fashion for real people, a fashion that meets the needs of the moment and goes beyond space and time. Precisely for this reason, on the occasion of the Spring-Summer 2021 fashion show aired on La7, the maison has created an ABC of Giorgio style, a poster of the fashion house, through a montage of images, archive interviews and memories. Narrated by the voice of actor Pierfrancesco Favino, the docu-film retraces the most important stages of Armani's career, focusing in particular on all the dictates that the designer followed to the letter, right from his first successes. And if one of his mottos is that fashion is not about being carried around by clothes, this collection designed for next summer reflects all the demands of this new normality. For her, the jacket and trouser sets can also be compared to ultra chic pyjamas, the kimono cardigans and sarong trousers are comfy and suitable for every occasion; finely decorated with oriental floral motifs they are ideal for smart working, just as much as office days and evening outings. Evenings are back to shine, with many shimmering outings, from incrustations to glitter, fringes on flapper dresses, beaded cardigans to bijoux. Because the desire to return to dressing well is what animates Mr. Armani's fashion, for a season that becomes a hit parade of key pieces: the deconstructed blazers, the greige palette, the wide trousers for him, the sequined long dresses, the geometric and floral prints for her. For him, the wardrobe ranges from casual baggy pants, checked baggy trousers and light blouses to sexy three-piece jackets, shirtless waistcoats, trousers and moccasins. The evening part ends with the tuxedo in midnight blue, the shapes are the same as always, elegance too. The balance between rigour and sensuality, urban vibe and exoticism, purity and small glam touches here and there are a reassuring guarantee. The silhouette is essential, soft, fluid: a fusion of pure lines and neutral colours. The personality of a woman and a man emerges, free, at ease, careful to be themselves through what they wear. Because as Giorgio says "fashion passes, but style remains".
