For the 2021 NBA Finals presented by YouTube TV, the world-renowned Larry O’Brien Trophy has been awarded to champions Milwaukee Bucks in its bespoke Louis Vuitton Trophy Travel Case.
Hand-crafted in Louis Vuitton’s historic Asnières workshop on the outskirts of Paris, France, the trunk is coated in the House’s emblematic Monogram canvas and fitted with traditional brass fixtures. Since Louis Vuitton’s founding in 1854, the personalisation of its products has been an integral part of its DNA and traditional craftmanship. The Trophy Travel case embraces that same customisation, harbouring the iconic "V", symbolising "Victory Travels in Louis Vuitton", in white with blue and red details. The deep blue from the NBA’s traditional colours is used to sublime the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
As the first official Trophy Travel Case provider of the NBA, this multiyear partnership saw Louis Vuitton launch the LVxNBA Collection last May, the House’s second menswear capsule collection with the NBA under the artistic direction of Virgil Abloh. True to the original spirit of the LVxNBA line, this second collection unveils a complete wardrobe reinventing the basketball player’s three main dress-codes: the travel, the game and the press conference. The ultimate emblem of the LVxNBA union, the very first basketballs signed by Louis Vuitton are offered in the original size 7 or in a smaller 12cm collector’s edition.
