Following the success of his previous work for Karl Lagerfeld - which included composition of a song with Cara Delevingne for the pre-autumn/winter 2015 collection – Chanel’s top dog has asked the award-winning music artist to create his own capsule collection.
News broke this weekend, at a replica of Chanel’s Cruise 2018 show in a new installation on the banks of the Chao Phraya river in Bangkok. Perched on the front row with his wife and son, wearing a bright yellow hoodie emblazoned with sparkling Chanel motifs, Pharrell’s logo-embellished streetwear was later revealed as his own design, part of a ready-to-wear and accessories edit of spring/summer 2019.
While full details of the collection are yet to be released, Chanel has said that the collection will debut exclusively on March 29 next year at its new Seoul flagship, followed by select Chanel boutiques around the world from April 4.
Needless to say, in the words of it’s creator, news of Pharrell’s latest venture has made us very “Happy” indeed.
