Chanel's One Night in Bangkok

Staging a replica of its Cruise 2018-2019 collection along Bangkok's Chao Phraya river, Chanel makes their runway debut in the Thai capital

Debuted in Paris in May, the show featured a massive ocean liner that was installed in the Grand Palais as a backdrop to Chanel's Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld’s nautical-inspired creations.

The French fashion house's second ever show in South East Asia, following it’s Singapore first in 2013, the Bangkok ‘frow were treated to a different experience of the Cruise Collection as seen by Chanel’s French guests, ferried from a pier in Bangkok’s historic Yan Nawa neighbourhood to a boardwalk where a giant white tent was erected.

Inside under subdued blue lights, models hit the catwalk sporting colourful berets, white tights, sequined smocks, and - of course - a vacationer’s twist on the classic Chanel tweed. Joining Bangkok’s glitterati were actress and Chanel muses Tilda Swinton and Lily-Rose Depp, along with Bruno Pavlovsky, Chanel’s president of global fashion.
