Social distancing has renewed the traditional practices of the fashion industry, and the latest proposal from the English brand Burberry finds the models of Resort 2021 in its own team. The collection manages to capture the full essence of British design and to contrast impeccable sartorial pieces with streetwear, without any difficulty.
The lookbook was created in celebration of the true Burberry community, inspired by founder Thomas Burberry's legacy of outdoor discovery. The diverse talent on the team gave their own interpretation to the garments in the collection and presented the looks with photos taken outside their homes. "This season, I wanted to draw with the familiar, the things that bring us strength and comfort. I went back to what first inspired me from the Burberry house codes, like the check, the iconic stripes and the unicorn emblem, but I revised them with a new perspective, incorporating elements of both sophistication and streetwear through the outdoor lens," said Creative Director Riccardo Tisci.
The silhouettes emerged from the infinite possibilities stored in the brand's archive, but interpreted with a sense of modernity. Between shades of beige, brown, black and grey in contrast to red and citrus yellow, the collection comes to life. Distinctive pieces of the brand make a return: the trench coat, the "barn" jackets and the pleated skirts. Undoubtedly an exceptional proposal, which had the sense of community rooted in the entire creative process.
