With fans including Adwoa Aboah, Lupita Nyong’o and Amal Clooney, if you haven't heard of Halpern by now, you need to start swatting up, pronto. Michael Halpern is the London-based, American-born designer whose debut, disco-inspired SS18 debut collection set the sartorial world alight in a blaze of sequins, attracting buyers from fashion powerhouses like Bergdorf Goodman, Matches and Browns like moths to a flame within seconds of hitting the runway. Fast forward-two years, there's a full-on disco inferno happening, and it's all down to Michael Halpern's magical reworking of seventies glamour for the modern woman.
Leading the charge with AW18's amped-up sparkle trend, with party season just around the corner, no girl worth their glamourpuss status should consider hitting the dancefloor without wearing Halpern. And with news reaching us that an exclusive Halpern collection is just about to land at Net-A-Porter, our party outfit-planning selves simply couldn't be happier.
Inspired by the photographer, Hasse Persson, HALPERN STUDIO’s distinctive sequined designs take centrestage within the exclusive capsule, embodying high-octane glamor and capturing the 1970s spirit of hedonism at the legendary Studio 54 nightclub.
“Working with at partner like Net-A-Porter is so fitting because I think their girl really gets how to wear this type of clothing” revealed Michael. “The clothes are about exuberance and personality, which is exactly that woman. Party season is a time where the woman who dress like this all year around get to take it to the next level, and for the woman who uses the season for her exclusive moments of zest gets to blossom.”
Consisting of 8 ready-to-wear items, the capsule collection focuses on after-dark allure as black paillettes with flashes of neon color seduce the eye. The fit and flare silhouette of a glittering jumpsuit or the contrast of an unassuming polo neck with dramatic disco flares make this capsule a game changer for the party season.
The HALPERN STUDIO capsule will launch exclusively on NET-A-PORTER on 8th October 2018.
