Symbolizing the New Look, the Bar jacket designed in 1947 by Christian Dior was presented in a new knitted version for winter. This stylistic bias literally gave the little hands of the French luxury house a lot of trouble. Indeed, no less than four prototypes were needed to recreate exactly the volume and cut that characterized the original model.
The various rib knit yokes were then bound entirely by hand instead of being sewn, while the buttons were covered with an identical knit. Reflecting Dior's modernity, this recent update combines the sculptural look of the original model with a resolutely contemporary casual style, once again making the famous Bar jacket a must-have.
