Elegant, poised and powerful – all the things we love about Jennifer Lawrence shine through in her latest role as muse for Dior’s Cruise 2019 collection campaign,
Shot by acclaimed Dutch photographer Viviane Sassen, the actress and 7-year Dior ambassador poses in a desert setting, in a collection inspired by the escaramuzas – an all-female equestrian sport that’s part of the Mexican equivalent of Rodeo – where beauty, strength and spectacular costume combine.
Dior’s first female creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, has made strong women part of her fashion storytelling. Since taking the reigns at Dior in 2016, she has paid tribute to Peggy Guggenheim and Alison Bancroft amongst others, and in this Cruise collection, salutes the extraordinary fearlessness, grace and skill of the female Mexican rodeo riders, who make their horses dance in perfectly choreographed sequences, all whilst looking fiercely feminine.
Resulting in a stunning collection of full skirts, impeccable cropped peplum jackets, elegantly pleated gowns and lacy blouses, offset with flat boots and leather corsetry along with reimagined Dior classics, like the saddle bag and the Toile de Jouy Dior Book Tote, Hollywood’s most beautiful ****-kicker couldn’t be a more perfect campaign girl.
