Loewe Creative Director Jonathan Anderson is a big fan of turning conventional menswear into works of art, as seen in his men's fall/winter 2019 ready-to-wear collective. If anything, the collection sees a new, refreshing direction in menswear, and Anderson's love affair with the craft definitely serves as a fundamental cornerstone when it comes to designing many of the pieces.

Patch It Up

Patchwork is a running theme throughout this collection. Designed for the maximalist in mind- think homemade quilts and leftover fabric sewn over holes in denim jeans, being turned into loud statement pieces for the season under Anderson's magic touch. The dress shirt with vibrant patchwork detail, paired with gloves and unzipped boots that go all the way up to the belt, is definingly the most outstanding patchwork piece everyone can agree with.  Aside from the dress shirt, the scarf coat mirrors the fashion house's expertise in workmanship, expertly crafted out of panels of multi-coloured fringed cashmere scarves.

The Great Outdoors

Jonathan Anderson drew heavy inspiration from nature, through the earthy tones and houndstooth prints- sparking nostalgia of the English countryside, in this collection. From fox fur trimmings embellished on a button-up shirt to shearling pink coats paired with tailoring in houndstooth print, its hard to deny that these unique pieces are nothing less than eye-catching.

Tailor Your Style

When it comes to menswear, how can we forget about tailoring? The clean cuts and sharp silhouettes of the tuxedoes brought a touch of elegance to the collection, while the colourful options taps on the colourful aesthetics of the brand. Anderson brings the suits to life by pairing them with crisp, white blouses with longer-than-average sleeves for a playful take on proportions.
