A new era begins for Fendi. To take up the legacy of Karl Lagerfeld alongside Silvia Venturini Fendi is British designer Kim Jones, former Creative Director of Dior Men. Jones will retain his role at the Dior maison, but will be in charge of the haute couture, ready-to-wear and women's fur collections at Fendi. Instead Silvia Venturini Fendi will continue in the Creative Direction of menswear and women's accessories.
The English designer will make his debut with the Fall-Winter 2020-2021 ready-to-wear collection during Milan Fashion Week in February 2021. This step marks his entry into the creation of womenswear.
Bernard Arnault, president of the LVMH Group, explains "Kim Jones is a great talent and since joining our group, he has continuously demonstrated his ability to adapt to the codes and heritage of the LVMH houses by revisiting them with great modernity and audacity. At Fendi, I am convinced that his vision and passion will strongly contribute to the success of the women's collections".
