Riccardo Tisci presented his Fall / Winter 19 collection for Burberry within the Tate Modern Tanks in London. Inspired by the contrasts of British culture and climate, it went from the structured to the rebellious; The collection includes many of the signature styles that first appeared in Riccardo's debut for Burberry last year and celebrates different cultures and the people they represent. The collection continues to evolve the Burberry characters introduced for the first time in September.
The environment of the show explored the idea of contrast and perspective, the collection was presented in two unique environments. One, more structured, traditional and formal with rigid and angular wooden seats that were located on a poorly lit track. The other was more rebellious, brutal and real, and in stark contrast welcomed more than 100 young people who climbed the walls in a representation of Tisci's drive for freedom and inclusion.
The music was designed exclusively by MIA with two custom-made soundscapes that took the audience on a journey from the 90s to the present day, making reference to the contrast of musical genres.
