One of the undeniably most memorable moments of SS19 Haute Couture fashion week was Dior’s circus-themed runway show.
Artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri put on a show that saw a troupe of female acrobats perform, while beaded skullcaps, romantic and masculine shapes filled the catwalk.
It was so successful it seems, that Dior has decided to take the show on the road. On March 18, the SS19 Haute Couture show (with all the flair of the Paris performance) will be shown in Dubai, along with some special new pieces, specific for the region.
“Every look has its own personality, just like circus characters, brave funny happy and sad,” Chiuri told AFP. “The circus is a world of its own which passes from town to town, changing each one a little as it goes - a bit like fashion week”, she continued.
Dior is not the first brand to pick Dubai as a place to showcase their collection in the Middle East. Dolce and Gabanna put on an exclusive catwalk show to celebrate the opening of their store in Fashion Avenue in The Dubai Mall last year.
