Omega’s iconic Constellation timepiece has transcended the decades since its 1952 debut.
A collection that evolved naturally from the brand’s first chronometer-certified “Centenary” wristwatch four years earlier, the mid-century Constellation made waves and history for being a chronometer-only family of watches ever released by any watchmaker.
In 2018, Omega’s emblem of watchmaking precision takes another leap of faith across the cosmos of design and technology to offer a staggering 101 new models for women.
Now unparalleled in variety, the new Omega Constellation collection is now available in three dial sizes: 25 mm and 28 mm, fitted with OMEGA Calibre 4061, and 29 mm, powered by the OMEGA Master Chronometer Calibre 8700/8701; with options of 18K Sedna and yellow gold, stainless steel and duo-toned combinations; and seven dial colours.
Omega’s commitment to accuracy is perpetuated via the mechanical 29 mm models, whose OMEGA Master Co-Axial movement is certified by 8 stringent tests. Stunning and sophisticated, the revamp bears inventive tweaks, yet the beloved “Manhattan” look is preserved — replete with clean, elegant lines in design, dial shape and the signature gold star.
The 29 mm’s reboot is led by a new matte finish with polished bevelled edges, slimmer claws, and slender bezels marked by delicate Roman numerals in upright reading position. Adding to the finesse: the teeth of the crown looks exquisite being detailed by a feminine half-moon shape that parallels the half-moon facets of the case.
The watch hands are also slimmer, while the indexes take on a sleek graphic sensibility.
Giving the 29 mm model a luxurious touch is a refreshed bracelet with polished “mid-bar” links borrowed from the original Constellation “Manhattan” collection, a domed sapphire crystal caseback, and a bracelet clasp with a domed cover and comfort release adjustment.
