From magnificent landscapes, to ultra-finished looks, and traditional African hairstyles and make-up, the new video for the song "Spirit", taken from the soundtrack of the new Lion King's soundtrack, unveiled this month, Beyoncé declares her love for Africa.
Taken from the album "The Lion King: The Gift", the song highlights the beauty of the African continent both visually and musically.
"The soundtrack is a love letter to Africa, and I wanted to make sure we found the best talent in Africa and not just, you know, use some of the sounds and make my interpretation of it," Queen B said in an interview with ABC on a special programme about the release of the film. "I wanted it to be authentic and to highlight what is beautiful in music in Africa... Many drums, songs, all these incredible new sounds mixed with some American producers, we have somehow created our own genre."
In the new video, fans can also get a sneak peek at key scenes in the new film featuring the much-loved characters Simba, Nala and Mufasa. Even better, the video also sees future-star-in-the-making the Blue Ivy, the singer's daughter with husband rapper Jay-Z make a charismatic appearance in the video.
