The fashion world shows that it truly is changing, with a return to the catwalk by model Lauren Wasser, who had to amputate both legs after suffering from Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS).

At the age of 30, the model made her catwalk comeback on the runways of New York Fashion Week, where she paraded for brands including Chromat.

Lauren fell ill with TSS after using a certain brand of sanitary product, with the TSS infection escalating so severely, that she had to amputate her right leg in 2012. In January this year, it was neccessary to amputate her left leg, due to gangrene complications.

The daughter of 80s model Pamela Cook, following her traumatic experience, Lauren has chosen to use her voice to raise awareness of TSS amongst other women. Currently attempting to get the US Senate to agree a proposal where absorbent manufacturers need to list all the product components in the box, this is one incredible woman trying to protect others from going through the extreme suffering that cost her her legs.
